Now Users Can Edit Message On Google Messages | Google Messages New Update

Google Messages has now rolled out a new feature. Users can now edit message on Google Messages. Google announced many Android features along with this new Google Messages edit feature. This new message edit feature will allow users to edit the message that was sent mistakenly or unknowingly. It provides a quick way to edit the typing mistakes in the messages.

Only the messages sent via RCS can be edited. Your phone needs to support RCS as a part of its SMS feature. The messages can be edited only within 15 minutes after sending the message. The messages sent between Android and iPhone cannot be edited. This edit message on Google Message feature is already available in Apple iMessage and WhatsApp. Standard SMS and MMS do not get this new edit message on Google Messages feature.

How To Edit Message on Google Messages?

Edit message on Google Messages is easy. Follow these steps to edit a message on Google Messages.

Long press a message that you want to edit. You will see an ‘Edit’ option, click on that Edit option and you will be able to edit a message.

After editing a message, click on the send icon to resend that message. Users will see a note that says ‘edited’ to let the receivers know that a message was edited by the sender like WhatsApp showing ‘Edited’. After editing a message, users can’t undo that edit. It is said that the notification may include the original unedited message.

How To Delete a Message On Google Messages?

To delete a message on Google Messages, follow these steps.

Long press a message that you want to delete. You will see a ‘Delete’ option. Now click on the delete option to delete that message. A deleted message cannot have an undo option.
